The Mbox2 Pro, while its interface looks very similar to Mbox2, is a much larger unit, such that you could easily rest your laptop on it. Pure brawn is the immediately noticeable difference. Which might sound a tad harsh to the many Mbox ‘classic’ and Mbox 2 owners, but the differences between the ‘old’ and the Pro are immense. Regardless, the Mbox2 Pro is here, perhaps even relegating the previous USB model back to the amateur leagues. It’s a big step up from 12 to nearly 400Mbps and one that many would suggest should probably have been the Mbox2 protocol in the first place.

IMO it should be green when powered either way and flash orange when both connected at least.Īnother flaw that caused me MAJOR headache is that when I first connected the Mbox 2 PRO to the computer, it apparently went through an automatic firmware update during which NO signs of life whatsoever are given. If both are connected, the led goes green again (OK) but it's not OK!!! If the power comes from FW, the same led is Orange (orange="warning"). If the power comes from the adaptor, the led lights green (green is associated with "OK"). If both connected, external should be used.Īlso the led feedback is counterintuitive. One supply should cancel the other electronically.
